Pindirai
[Verse 1]
The other day, a grown woman approached me
She hollered then she asked me for a dollar
So I checked my wallet
I gave her three, said "five is all that I've got
And I need the other two to get to the spot"
But still we sat and we talked
Turns out that she's a mother of two, a boy and a girl
They're the only joy she's got in this world
She wants to send her son to school, but she can't quite afford it
She says she's fifty dollars shy of the amount she was quoted
She's tried everything
She cried when her husband died
Life took a toll, in order to survive she went and sold the wedding ring
How much did that bring?
Well, not enough but she's not giving up
She say that she pray everyday and night until the sun is up
I laughed. "Look I don't see the point in praying you're pleading lady, do you really need the gods to intervene?"
She say when she on her knees and they're bleeding, she wonder what she achieving but she keeping the faith for the sake of the kids
Damn, I was leaving as I said, "I will be back tomorrow with some money
Even if I have to beg, borrow, steal for you."
I managed to gather a couple hundred dollar bills
To appease a life so filled with sorrow that it starts to spill
You know, I was getting my good will on
I figured if her kids could have a future, she would still be strong
And so I was very amped up the next day
On my way there I was sitting there wondering how it would end?
I waited patiently for hours on end
I guess she had no faith in me
Which I find strange 'cause see
I had no cause to pretend
There'd be no laws for to bend
I was basically no more than a means to an end
I don't understand, I gave her my word
I said I'd return, Two o'clock at the same curb
She's was probably lying anyway, I don't know why I bothered
The human race is neither true to nor got faith in each other so fuck it
[Chorus] x2
Vakuru-we Pindirai
Vakuru-we Pindirai
Vakuru-we Pindirai
Pindirai, ndati pindirai

[Verse 2]
The way of the world is pretty wayward
Orphaned kids are dying on the pavements
Religion will tell you just say a prayer, fix it with an amen
This world need more than words, listen to what I'm saying
Check out some of these people in the parliament
Promising to police the problem but they're a part of it
Pushing forward political and personal agendas
Instead of opposing prejudice based on class and gender
Only Intensifying the social divide
Care more about your car than your gardener's family of five
He gets barely paid enough for him and his folks to survive
A life of survival is barely even living a life
On the grind all day just to cover the bare necessities
While sixteen year olds just being handed brand new Mercedes keys
Oh no, life is hardly ever fair
So get down and say prayer, then go out and make it real

[Chorus] x3
