An Ancient Old Tale - In His Own Words -
Good evening
Sit down by the fire, I'll tell you a spell
An ancient, old tale of travels through hell
Every past winter told in one storm
The spring just a promise, still searching its form
We'll learn far too little and leave still unwise
Just jesters in tears when the stone walls arise
We're lost in the dark, which we know like a friend
A lonely road to the inevitable end
This is a story of how we may fight
One soul's last stand in the name of the night
This is a story since ever unheard...
Brief glimpses of life and the death of a bird
Look to the marshes. Can you hear that faint sound?
Owl lies dying, flat on the ground
The morning still lingers, the whole world lies pale
And the stars watch in silence, they gave their last hail
Owl tries to stand but her strength is long gone
As the true queen of dusk meets her first dawn
With wings without strength and eyes almost blind
Deep cuts to remind her of the world left behind
The Emerald Towers took all that she had
Time forgets no one, takes both joyful and sad
We learn and remember and then we forget
But right before sleep come floods of regret
Owl dreams with eyes open and she sees her old throne
Between clouds and green mountains. She ruled there alone
With fiery blood raging and longing to fly
She still held the power, the keys to the sky
Now her body is broken and her limbs have gone numb
She fears the last silence to which all must succumb
With all words almost written and everything said
She gives a last lamentation before she is dead:
