“Oh shit…are we in love?” Umm, this song is so fun. I remember just my biggest memory of this day is just having a lot of fun. Umm, how initially—this was, umm, pretty much written peak-pandemic, so we were just at a cabin, umm, writing songs and we jumped on a Zoom with Jorgen, umm, who we wrote this song with, who’s just an amazing, amazing producer and songwriter, and we looked up to him for forever. Umm, so there was a moment when I like logged onto the Zoom and I was like nervous as shit. I was like, “Oh my God, we’re gonna be writing with Jorgen.” But within like ten minutes we just started like vibing and talking and, umm, you know, we’re all human. And we just started kind of like talking about, umm, you know, pushing the envelope a little bit of like honesty. Not that we’ve never been honest, but kind of being a little more, umm, direct with how we’re writing songs and really kind of wearing our heart on our sleeve and, umm, there was a moment earlier in the day where, like, umm, I think my girlfriend and like Mickey’s girlfriend texted us and it was this whole kind of joke of like “Oh, like you never write songs about us, like, umm, like write like a happy song about us,” and we kind of came up with this slogan of like “Oh shit, are we in love?” and we started talking about these, like, “oh shit” moments that you have in life. Umm, whether it’s like moving out, or dropping out of college, or you know, realizing you’ve been in love with, you know, a person since high school and you want to message them five years later and being like “I think I’m in love with you,” like those “oh shit” moments are so important in life, and that’s kind of what this song is. It’s kind of just an anthem for being like “Holy shit! Like, you’ve been in front of me the whole whole time, and maybe I didn’t—it took a second to realize that, like, I love you.” Umm, and that’s what it’s really trying to be and nothing else, and umm, it’s super fun to sing, I think, live. It just takes on such a cool, fun kind of vibe. We get the whole crowd singing it and, umm, that bridge is like so chanty and anthemic and, umm, and the groove. Jorgen laid down, like, this incredible drum and bass groove and yeah, just this whole day was amazing. I—everytime I think of this song, I just think of like falling in love and like summer nights. I know that’s kind of like, so on the nose and corny, but I just love it. It’s such a pure Valley song, and I’m so happy, umm, we decided to put it out. It's so special
