Amber Reflects
Back in the asylum when my younger self was crying
And i just sat there in silence and despair
Around me voices screaming, laughing madly, bedlam dreaming
Its dark nightmare as I sat in silent prayer
Why’d they do this to me, I am lost and there is nothing
That can lead me out of darkness, out of woe
There ought to be a new world for the sad, despairing lost girls
But the days they would just come and they would go
And I wish I could go back and say
Tell that little girl the pain is worth it all one day
All this will fade and you will change
And a force for vindication and saltation you will make
I still believe, believe this will be worth it all one day
Down there in those caves that dark and damp and chilly place
Where the Voodoopunks would chant and plan and pray
The wounded they would cry, the really bad ones would just die
And you could see the desperation on our face
In prayer I begged oh why must all this suffering be mine
Why must this world always be so full of woe
Please let there be a place past all this misery and pain
But the days they would just come and they would go
And I wish I could go back and say
Tell that teenage girl it will be worth it all one day
A woman of you it will make
And a force so fierce and fiery you will be upon that day
The price of transformation lays
In paying wages made of pain
Little girl keep holding on be strong and full of faith
I still believe, believe it will be worth it all one day
