[Intro: DiverseCity]
Hoo-hah
Hoo-hah
Hoo-hah
[Verse 1: TobyMac & DiverseCity]
God's in the spot, you can like it or not
So rip the knob off the volume when you give it a shot
Raise your hands as the slam starts to thicken the plot
Openin' eyes to the lies of the enemies' lot
So run like the wind from the sin of your past
Keep your eyes on the prize when they put you on blast
It's the Christ on the cross, it's humanity's shot
It's a worldwide call to everything that we're not, come on
[Pre-Chorus: DiverseCity]
This is the slam, this is the one
(God's in the spot, you can like it or not)
This is the slam, this is the one
(We gonna do it like it ain't been)
[Chorus: TobyMac & DiverseCity]
Yo, this is the slam, this is the one
We gonna do it like it ain't been done before
This is the slam, this is the one
We gonna spring you like you ain't been sprung
[Verse 2: TobyMac DiverseCity, Both]
They came from the cities and towns all around
To see the long-haired preacher from the desert get down
Waist-high in water, never short on words
He said, "Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven can be yours!"
But he stopped in the middle of his words and dropped
Down to his knees and said, "Behold the Lamb of God
He's the One, the Slam, don't you people understand?
You're starin' at the Son, God's reachin' out his hand” (Come on)
[Pre-Chorus: DiverseCity, TobyMac]
This is the slam, this is the one
(God's in the spot, you can like it or not)
This is the slam, this is the one
(We gonna do it like it)
Yo, uno, dos
[Chorus: TobyMac & DiverseCity]
This is the slam, this is the one
We gonna do it like it ain't been done before
This is the slam, this is the one
We gonna spring you like you ain't been sprung
This is the slam, this is the one
We gonna do it like it ain't been done before
This is the slam, this is the one
We gonna spring you like you ain't been sprung
[Transition: TobyMac]
Man, y'all so hype, you gettin' hot up in here, what's wrong with y'all, gettin' this hype
I've had the privilege of touring around the world
But I will tell you this tonight, I've learned a few things along the way, I have
And I ain't no preacher, but I'm 'bout to get my preach on here for a minute, if that's alright with you, Houston
You see, it's not our words
Our words aren't gonna be what stops the world in their tracks
Our words will not change the world, they've heard it all
It's not normally our music
Normally, we make our music for us, for the body, so that we can sharpen each other, edify the body, glorify our God
Once in a while, one crosses over, but it's not typically the music that's gonna stop the world in their tracks
Our music's not gonna change the world, more than likely
It's not our buildings, as grand and beautiful as some of our church buildings are
It's not the architecture that's gonna change the world
But I believe what will change the world is when we begin to love each other
And when we begin to love the world
And when we begin to reach out to the orphans, and the widows, the lower-income families in our communities
When the world sees that kind of love, I'm talkin' 'bout undeniable love
I believe they'll stop in their tracks an' say, "Yo, whatever you people have over there
I want some o' that, baby, I want some o' that right there for me"
When our houses are packed so full o' love
That we gotta open up the back door to let it ooze out into the valleys, and the suburbs, and the city streets
When the world sees that kind o' love, real love
They gon' stop in their tracks, baby
They gonna say, "Whatever- homie, homie, yo
Yo, homie, whatever you people have over there, you Jesus Freaks
I want some o' that, man
I want some o' that Jesus for me, man, if it's doin' all that!"
