[Spoken Word]
Schopenhauer's SUV
Before us, there is certainly only nothingness
When Schopenhauer realised this
Before us, only nothingness
An existential dark abyss
That swallows all like poison mist
He bought an SUV, he said
"Mate, I now at least deserve my fate"
I sing for that uncounted tribe
The moral good whom death will scythe
Who, unregarded, serve and love
They don't deserve it – well, who doеs?
Death will come, but not unfairly
If I'm in a sports utility
You're purе of heart? Commit no crime?
Modest and smart? It's SU time
There's men with blood in morning stools
Who teach the young kids Aussie Rules
COVID nurses, thoughtful bosses
Scholars of ancient Kenosis
Mechanic says, "ten bucks is fine"
Experts in oozed glaubidurine
Those who explore atomic fields
Whom, to my old aunt, bring her meals
Thoughtful, brainy, humble dags
Simon Tillerson, Melvin Bragg
Who will, lost dogs, help and rescue
Who, when turning right, will let you
The list of good'uns never stops
But all of them are for the chop
Resist, resist the cosmic joke
With an SUV, there's still some hope
We might wipe, who cares how teeny
The smirk from the melon genie
We will still go back to dust us
But at least we'll go with justice
To achieve cosmic reversal
Buy a stupid light commercial
Doomed to a fate invidious?
Choose the automobile of idiots
Why, with unfair sentence, comply?
When thus, one fully deserves to die
In suburban driveways, park your trucks
Run the kids to school in a HiLux
Cyclists, climate, all else in danger
In Raptors, Tritons, utes and Rangers
Laugh in the face of your final hour
With my new model Ford Schopenhauer
To life's cruel driver, I shake a fist
You thought you were awful? Well, look at this
